We have had a fantastic amount of people attend Southeast area rounds of competitions. We started the year with Spring Competitions, which we held in Slough this consisted of the public speaking competitions.
Reading 2nd, Public Speaking 1st, Brainstrust 2nd Senior Member of the year 2nd, Junior Member of the Year 2nd, Situation Vacant (22-28 Years) 2nd.
It was then followed on by South of England Show where we had a number of members attend for stock judging classes, auctioneering, scrapbook and Cube. We had a great result for members, with us coming home with 1st in the Cube (Abingdon), Scrapbook (Witney Juniors) and 1st in Senior Stockman (Jack Burchmore from Henley), 2nd in Young Stockman (William Walker, Witney) 1st in Auctioneering (Jack Burchmore from Henley) as well as most of our member achieving top 10 placement in the stock judging.
Summer Comps was hosted over on the boarder of Buckinghamshire by the Nixey family and consisted of Junior Tug of war which our witney club came out on top and Fencing with Enstone also taking home first place.
Sports competitions were held a little different this year with the lack of entries from across area, the seniors organised their own hockey game, which a mixed time went down and played and came 1st, we then also held dodgeball against Berkshire and unfortunately Berkshire beat us to it on winning that one.
Overall, we have had a very successful time at South East Area rounds with lots of members heading onto the National finals. Well done to all who have competed!
